Derald Bontrager, the president and CEO of Jayco, Inc. was elected RVIA chairman of the board for 2015 on September 24th at the St. regis Aspen Resort in Aspen, CO. Derald succeeds Mr. Doug Gaeddert, the general manager of Forest River who has served for the past two years. Mr. Bontrager is a decorated RV leader.
RVIA President Richard Coon said, "The board has elected one of the most well-liked and respected leaders in the RV industry to be the association’s next chairman,” “Derald is a veteran of the RV industry and has been a very engaged member in the association for many years. In that time, his insight and business expertise at board and committee meetings have been invaluable to the association. I am looking forward to working with him in the coming year.”
Derald Bontrager has a history with the RVIA and has served on the RVIA Board of Directors and on the RVIA Executive Committee since 2009. He has held the positions of first vice chairman, second vice chairman and treasurer. In addition, Bontrager has also served as chairman of the audit committee and as a member of the Go RVing Coalition, public and legislative affairs committee, RV Service Training Council, and the RVIA Strategic Planning Committee.
