What type of RV's are out there??

1. Class A: Class a is a motor-home built on a motor vehicle chassis. Class A's are the largest of RV's and most desired by full time RV'ers for their features and spacious living.

2. Class B: A Class B is a compact motor-home with the look of a van. Class b's are popular because of their smaller size which makes them easier to drive and store. (Note: a Class B cost more per Sq. Ft. than a Class A).

3. Class C: Class C's are built on a van frame with an attached cab. Almost always there is a bed that hangs over the cab which makes it easy to identify.

4. Fifth Wheel: Fifth Wheels are pulled behind a pick up truck with a special hitch. very similar to travel trailers, yet they may be a bit more roomy. These are the most stable to tow.

5. Camper: Campers are built for trucks. The dwelling area sits on top of the truck bed. These tend to be the cheapest of RV's and can easily be removed from your vehicle if needed. Campers are compact but can have many features.

6. Travel Trailer: Travel trailers are the most common of RV's. They are towed behind an SUV or truck and have a spacious dwelling. There many different styles, sizes and features.

7. Tent Trailer: The tent trailer is usually a collapsible RV that is towed behind an SUV or truck. It will resemble a travel trailer but the walls may be made of tent material.

Valley RV's rich history...

Valley RV Supercenter is proud of its rich and unique history in the RV industry. In 1966 Frank Lee, President, his partner and vice president, Ron Claudon and two other gentlemen visited a small factory in Forest City, Iowa which they had been doing business with selling their truck canopies and travel trailers. This trip was the start of something big, and these 4 gentlemen were soon driving back home to Auburn, WA. in 4 of the first 10 Winnebago motor homes ever produced.

Over the years, Valley was one of Winnebago Industries "Best Customers". Purchasing more canopies, travel trailers, custom vans and motor homes than any other dealer in the world. In 1986 Frank Lee was invited back to Forest City, Iowa to accept the keys to Winnebago's 200,000 motor home and was honored with the “High Flyer” award. This award was given to only 2 dealers that had achieved Winnebago and Itasca motor home sales in excess of 3,000 units! Valley was truly in a class of its own.

Although many things have changed in the RV business since those early days, one thing has remained constant; the need for professional assistance during and after the sale. Valley RV Supercenter is proud to be a premiere "Jayco" dealer and prides itself in being able to offer technical and mechanical services for any make and model from tent trailers to high-end diesel motor homes. Our sales and service staff have combined experience of over 150 years! They not only know what they sell and service, but they truly enjoy RV'ing themselves.

Valley RV Supercenter is now owned and operated by the 2nd generation with President, Ron Claudon Jr. at the helm of Valley Buick, GMC and vice president, Tony Weeldreyer managing the RV dealership operations. These gentlemen would like nothing more than for you to join the thousands of happy campers and friends that make up the "Valley RV Family"!

Old Christmas...

There is something in the very season of the year that gives a charm to the festivity of Christmas. At other times we derive a great portion of our pleasures from the mere beauties of nature. Our feelings sally forth and dissipate themselves over the sunny landscape, and we "live abroad and everywhere." The song of the bird, the murmur of the stream, the breathing fragrance of spring, the soft voluptuousness of summer, the golden pomp of autumn; earth with its mantle of refreshing green, and heaven with its deep delicious blue and its cloudy magnificence, all fill us with mute but exquisite delight, and we revel in the luxury of mere sensation. But in the depth of winter, when nature lies despoiled of every charm, and wrapped in her shroud of sheeted snow, we turn for our gratifications to moral sources. The dreariness and desolation of the landscape, the short gloomy days and darksome nights, while they circumscribe our wanderings, shut in our feelings also from rambling abroad, and make us more keenly disposed for the pleasures of the social circle. Our thoughts are more concentrated; our friendly sympathies more aroused. we feel more sensibly the charm of each other's society, and are brought more closely together by dependence on each other for enjoyment. Heart calleth unto heart; and we draw our pleasures from the deep wells of living kindness, which lie in the quiet recesses of our bosoms: and which when resorted to, furnish forth the pure element of domestic felicity.
The pitchy gloom without makes the heart dilate on entering the room filled with the glow and warmth of the evening fire. The ruddy blaze diffuses an artificial summer and sunshine through the room, and lights up each countenance into a kindlier welcome. Where does the honest face of hospitality expand into a broader and more cordial smile--where is the shy glance of love more sweetly eloquent--than by the winter fireside? and as the hollow blast of wintry wind rushes through the hall, claps the distant door, whistles about the casement, and rumbles down the chimney, what can be more grateful than that feeling of sober and sheltered security with which we look around upon the comfortable chamber and the scene of domestic hilarity?

Make it Christmas in your RV!

Your a full time RVer or may be just traveling for the Holidays. Its getting cold and the snow is starting to fall from the night sky. Your away from home but home is really where your heart is and that is with family and friends.

A pan of Gingerbread baking in your RV oven ushers in the the aroma of of the Holidays. The smell is wonderful! It beckons you to the memories of yesteryear with smiles around the tree and anxious children awaiting to open their long awaited gifts. Maybe popcorn strings carefully crafted with the occasional throwing match to see who can get the kernel in your mouth.

Hung candy cans decorate the accessible settings in your cabin and several small dishes of baked goods and chocolates set out, ready for the plucking. Steaming cups of hot Cocoa and Tea in yet cooler hands that hold it with an unpeeled candy cane you methodically swish and stir it with.
Little voices of excitement and awe come up with every creative idea to make it more Christmas.

You proudly lite that potpourri candle you got last Christmas from the in laws. The smell gives off every indication of a relaxed celebration. Adorned throughout your RV are pine branches that the family had gathered together from yesterday before dusk. Stockings carefully pinned to the curtains of your RV with everyone's name embroidered on them. Christmas decor of gold and silver green and blues with back drops of red weaved through out your cabin. The sights, the smells, the anticipation of youngsters make it home away from home.

Candles and Christmas Place mats, holly settings and a focal wreath above the couch comfort your eyes. Mistletoe for those moments mom and dad will share a quick romantic distraction and to be pulled away by an excited voice wanting help with the hanging of shiny ornaments on the tree. Dad decided the ornaments would look just as well on the walls of your coach.

Pine cones picked from outside your door and tied with ribbon. A basket of evergreen branches as a table decoration. The beauty of fresh fruits, nuts, candy and natural decor that not only are more enjoyable because it they are real, but easy to part with when the festivities are over. Minimal clean up or storage for this traveling family.

And of course don't forget... the very best of Christmas music running in the background to make the setting right. Christmas lights, candy canes, carols and laughter make this your RV Christmas.

Winter RVing is the new trend in the Pacific NW??

There is word that RVing is now becoming an ever more popular choice for vacationing. Approximately 9 million Americans own RVs, and the statistics show it is increasing. Not only has Rving gained popularity but Winter Rving is on the rise. Spring and Summer RVing are on the rise as well but Winter RVing has now become a viable and desirable option on the vacation agenda. The trend is noticed in the winter sales from RV Dealers down to the stories of local  friends and family.

All the issues that once kept the avid camper at bay from the Winter scene are now just a notch on the belt in the learning process for the Savvy Seattlelite RVer. There are many helpful tips and solutions to make your experience enjoyable even in the snow.
We have learned that cold temperatures can be handled with using a forced-air furnace. Freezing problems are easily  fixed by winterizing your RV or by installing a tank heater. We also know that condensation problems are solved with a dehumidifier. it is always smart to check your RV for leaks before taking it out in the wet snow or before you store it away.

At Valley RV Supercenter "We live RV" and we want you to have the best experience possible for any time of the season.

It is good to know that there a lot of RV Parks and destinations that foster the Winter RVing experience. And if you live in the great Pacific Northwest, you know that the are plenty of places to go for Winter Family adventures. Understanding that staying dry and warm is the best possible scenario, Winter RVing is very possible and can be fun for the whole family.
Stay safe, stay warm and take in those Winter RVing memories!

Have you checked your RV for leaks??

Seal Tech is a new service used to pinpoint any leaks in your RV.

A large hose is hooked up to the ceiling vent in your RV.

That hose connects to a high power blower that will pressurize the entire cabin.

Then a our Service Technicians spray the outside of the RV with a soapy solution.

Any place where air can escape the suds of the soapy solution will bubble indicating a leak.

This service is a thorough procedure to check every inch of your RV for leakage.

It is ideal to have this service done before you winterize/store your RV and for a routine check up. This will give you peace of mind knowing that moisture cannot enter and cause damage to your RV.

3rd Annual Kent Turkey Challenge results!

With the efforts of many Kent businesses, November 26th turned to be a day of giving. A total of $9,978.92 funds were raised and 2,784 lbs food were donated to the Kent Food Bank.
This was a great response by Kent area businesses! Great job!

The Kent Food Bank was able to serve 1010 families with a holiday meal and 3153 individuals.

Director of the Kent Food Bank Jeniece Chaote told Torklift Central that they had turkeys to last the whole day! She also said "This Turkey challenge has changed our holiday Thanksgiving distribution in a great way. Before this drive the Food Bank did not do turkeys. For the past three years we've been able to offer families a turkey".

Valley RV Supercenter is happy to partner with all the great businesses that put this together. Thank you!

What is PDI??

Could it be....

Personal Development Index?
A great new personality test for prospective government personnel.

or

Pantomime Disaster Information?
For the grieving victims of sub-standard pantomime entertainment.

I tell you... Nay!!!!

PDI stands for Pre-Delivery Inspection
Pre-Delivery Inspection entails so much more than just a look over on your RV before picking it up (At least that's true for us here at Valley RV Supercenter).

Here is what is involved in a basic PDI:

1. Unit preparation: Our professional Service staff looks over your RV from head to toe to make sure there are no abnormalities or mechanical issues.

2.Unit orientation: This is what is known as the "Walk-through". One of our knowledgeable serve techs will walk you through every function of your RV so that you are well versed on how to use it and what to be aware of. Our Techs are also RV'ers, so they give you all kinds of tips on campsites, how to's and what not to do.

3. LP Tank: Purge and fill your tanks to make sure they are full.

4. Unit detail: We make sure your RV gets a full cleaning detail, inside and out by our detail oriented Detail Team.

5. Battery Box: You get a new 12 volt battery and box for your RV.

6. Starter Kit: We make sure you leave with a RV starter kit. The kit contains all the little things to help you along for the first adventure in your RV.

Why should you Winterize your RV??

For so many reasons...
For those enthusiasts who take on the task of winterizing their RV's themselves. A word of caution. It may be the economical thing to do this season if all the boxes are checked, but all too often we realize that we may have missed a step or have not performed all the needed maintenance. The end result can be expensive and frustrating.
"It takes a village" some say. Winterizing your RV is not just a one time, one person task. It is wise to have your RV inspected for any leaks or malfunction before you winterize. That way you don't have a surprise in the spring; like a leak or busted pipe etc. There are different ways to winterize your RV given the type and the climate you live in. It's always good to consult your RV service guys and manuals on the best procedure for winterization.
One of the best ways to prepare your RV for winter weather is by completely cleaning and detailing the inside of it. Remove all food. This will keep pests from entering your RV looking for food. Clean all cloth draperies, pillows, towels and bedding and remove it from the RV. Pests will try to use material as shelter to keep warm. After cleaning the interior, clean the exterior as well old dirt hardened by the winter can cause damage by bonding to your RV or ruining your paint.
Valley recommends checking all seals around your RV to make sure there are no openings for pests or moisture to enter your RV. Even the smallest opening can create an opportunity for moisture and pests. That can lead to expensive damage to your RV. Ask about Seal Tech Service.
in conclusion, it is extremely important to be on top of all the quirks in your RV. be sure to get it inspected, checked for leaks and keep it clean. Make sure you understand the best way to winterize or be safe and have your local RV Service shop handle it for you. It may be worth the small cost now.
Have a safe season and many wonderful memories!
